Merit Badges
There are over 120 merit badges offered by BSA. Any Boy Scout may earn any merit badge at any time.
Through the process of merit badges, a scout can learn a lot of useful knowledge ranging from sports, science,
outdoor survival, career to business.
Road to earn Merit Badges
- Talk to your Scoutmaster. Pick a subject.
- Read the requirements of the merit badges that you are interested in.
- Get a signed merit badge application from your Scoutmaster.
- Call the Merit Badge Counselors - For list of SCCC MB Counselors, contact SM, Membership or Committee Chair
- Start to learn and do the things required. Ask your counselor for help.
- When you are ready, call the counselor again to schedule an appointment to meet the requirements.
- If the counselor satisfies with your achievement, he/she will sign your application.
Give the signed application to your Scoutmaster and you are done!
- Other places where you can earn merit badges
- Summer Camp – may be able to earn 3-4 MBs at each summer camp.
- MB Midway provided by other troops. (not an ideal way)
